Hello, World!

I’m happy to announce the formation of Conifer Studio!

After a few weeks working for a corporate engineering firm, a contract opportunity presented itself which will allow me to build my solo practice while I make longer-term plans. I’ll be working on some healthcare projects with my friends at Mahlum, and I’m very excited to be working with such great people again. That role begins tomorrow and should last at least the next couple months.

On the subject of my solo practice, David Cole Architect PLLC has quietly existed on paper as a legal entity since April 2024, but I’ve recently rebranded it as Conifer Studio Architecture + Design. Special thanks to my first client, OpenScope Studio in San Francisco, for putting their trust in me and helping me get off the ground last year.

They say starting your own business is like jumping off a cliff and teaching yourself how to sew a parachute before you hit the bottom of the canyon, and I’m definitely feeling that. Time will tell if this becomes a long-term thing or just a stopgap between regular employment, but it’s been an exciting process nonetheless.

If you or somebody you know needs architectural design services, BIM consulting, or anything else along those lines, please don’t hesitate to reach out!
